Ice Skating with a pro, wherever you are
Skating looks effortless when done well, and that comes from good fundamentals. A coach helps you find your balance, glide, stop safely and skate backwards, then progresses to edges, crossovers, spins and jumps if figure skating is your goal.
Who it’s for
First-timers, children (booked by a parent or guardian), adults who always wanted to learn, and figure skaters working towards tests.
What a session looks like
Balance and falling safely, forward and backward skating, stopping, then skills progressions such as edges, crossovers, spins or jumps.
Where you can train
Public ice rinks, during public sessions or booked ice time. Entry and skate hire are usually paid at the rink.
What to bring
Warm, flexible layers, gloves and thick socks. Bring your own skates if you have them, or hire at the rink.
Ice Skating FAQs
I’ve never been on ice. Is a lesson worth it?
Absolutely. Learning how to balance and fall safely in your first session makes skating much more enjoyable.
Can you coach figure skating?
Yes. Many coaches teach figure skating, including spins, jumps and preparation for skating tests.
Are Trainow ice skating coaches verified?
Yes. Before a coach goes live, Trainow reviews their identity, qualifications and insurance, plus safeguarding and DBS checks for anyone coaching children. Every session is rated by real people, so you can see how a coach performs before you book.
